what people have said

What I appreciated most was how we could talk about the things my family was too afraid to talk about. Knowing that if anything happened while I waited for a transplant or during surgery my wishes were recorded and my family wouldn’t have to worry about what to do […] brought me so much confidence and peace…thanks for being in my corner through this crazy experience!!

—Rachel T.

Our gratitude knows no bounds for you. Joel’s diagnosis was devastating. I had no idea I had my own unlearning to do so that I could best support him, but with your guidance and patience, I think we all learned what it means to support someone dying. […] We were so held by you.

—Nick C.

How weird is it that this is likely the last review I ever write? I’m glad it’s for you, Michelle. It started when we first sat down and you told me I had zero obligation to be okay with my terminal diagnosis…up until that point I thought I had to hide my fear and anger […] and it was making me feel so alone. Now I feel ready as I think I’ll ever be […]. Thank you.

—Meg L.

meet your doula

What would someone facing organ failure, a transplant, or a terminal diagnosis want to know when deciding whether they wanted to work with a doula? And—what would they need to know when deciding if that doula should be me?

You’ll often hear me talk about the unlearning that needs to happen across health care systems and care circle dynamics; this is because as a doula, I am deeply committed to my clients and the integrity of their experience.
